CyNUM - Cypriot Network of Urban Morphology

The aim of the network is to promote research on the urban form of Cypriot cities and to support its dissemination both throughout the island of Cyprus and abroad. As such it aims to act as a first point of contact and information for researchers interested in Cypriot cities. It is also a platform for knowledge exchange and networking among researchers in the field of urban studies who have a specific interest in Cyprus and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.

 

ISUFItaly - Italian Network of Urban Morphology

ISUFitaly was founded in 2007 to provide contacts between members by organizing conferences, seminars and other meetings and to develop links with other international organizations concerned with the built environment. The association, mainly formed by architects, seeks to develop in contemporary terms the Italian tradition of morphological-processual studies. Its main interest is the relationship between the study of built landscapes and architectural design, particularly focusing on historical foundations. ISUFitaly, which organizes conferences and workshops and publishes the journal, U + D, is based in Rome.

 

ISUFPolska - Polish Network of Urban Morphology

The Polish Network of Urban Morphology (ISUFPOLSKA, Polska Siec Morfologii Urbanistycznej) has been evolving since 2016 and primarily promotes and develops research concerning the morphology of urban and rural settlement. It also helps in the dissemination of research findings locally and internationally, as well as between disciplines. Its members - geographers and architects - conduct individual research in relation to Urban Morphology.

 

PNUM Portuguese-language Network of Urban Morphology

The Portuguese-language Network of Urban Morphology (PNUM) was founded in 2010. It aims to promote the study of urban form in Portuguese-language countries, in close collaboration with ISUF. It comprises three main activities/events: the annual conferences (since 2011), the journal Revista de Morfologia Urbana (since 2013) and annual workshops (since 2015).

 

SNUM - Serbian Network of Urban Morphology

The Serbian Network of Urban Morphology (SNUM), established in 2016, consists of researchers and practitioners mainly from the fields of architecture, urban planning, transport engineering and conservation. Particular topics dealt with include the evolution of Serbian urban form, the relationship between research and practice, and the teaching of urban form.

 

ISUF-H - Hispanic Network of Urban Morphology

ISUF-H was founded in 2015. The main objective of this regional ISUF network is the promotion of urban morphology in the Spanish-speaking countries. Research topics of special interest to ISUF-H are: medium-size cities, university campuses, urban heritage, informal cities, public space, the landscape of housing, indicators of sustainability and energy efficiency, green space, social space, and mobility and transportation. The association is based in Valencia at the Departamento de Urbanismo de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.

 

TNUM - Turkish Network of Urban Morphology

The Turkish Network of Urban Morphology (TNUM) was founded in 2014 and is hosted by the Centre for Mediterranean Urban Studies at Mersin University, Mersin. The main purposes of TNUM are to facilitate the sharing of studies concerned with urban morphology, and to discuss the development of collaborative studies of urban form at the national and international levels. It is also a platform for knowledge exchange and networking among researchers in the field of urban, architectural and social studies that have a specific interest in Turkey and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region. It has been agreed to develop in particular a commonly accepted vocabulary of urban morphology in the Turkish language, and strengthen the place of urban morphology in education.
